Handwashing
It is important to wash your hands before and after providing care, even if you wear gloves. When handling foods, changing a diaper, touching pets, coughing, sneezing and after using the toilet of course. You can prevent germs from spreading, especially during the cold and flu season. Remove jewelry and use warm soap and water scrubbing for at least 15 -30 seconds. Make sure you clean under nails as well. Dry well and apply lotion if desired to soothe dry skin.
Wear gloves when touching blood or any body fluids such as changing soiled briefs or diapers. Wear a gown if there's a possibility of body fluids or blood splashes. A mask may be worn as well in case of splashes.
Clean up any spills such as urine or other body fluids right away with hot soapy water, then use 1 part bleach to 10 parts water and rinse with cold water.
